MEDICINE OF THE MONTH

SACRED SMOKE

Whether burning herbs for incense or smoking them - it is a sacred + ancient medicine to work with. Sacred Smoke feeds the sacred, feeds the spirits, feeds that which is unseen but felt. It is a vehicle + offering for prayer - whether you're clearing something, calling something in, or simply offering gratitude to your spirit guides, sacred smoke amplifies your intentions.

SMOKING LOTUS

Just as when we burn incense in our spaces to create sacred space - so too does the smoke offer our bodies a clearing + opening of sacredness within us.

It clears our portals, brings ease to the nervous system, can be a preparedness for meditation + ceremony, & a sensual awakening to the body. Lotus brings a beautiful euphoric medicine, clearing the chatter in the mind + third eye, allowing us to see beyond the veils + see the beauty in our lives and all around us.

Tune in to how smoking Lotus feels to you - there is such depth and wisdom to be experienced in this medicine. I can’t wait to hear all that comes through uniquely for you.

LOTUS SMOKE

work with the smoke in intentional ways that call to you.

Some ideas:
-before/with morning meditation.
-in the evenings at sunset.
-before sleep to dream with.
-to create/make art.
-in the sun, out in nature.

SMOKE CLEANSING

- invite in the smoke cleansing ritual this month. breathing in the smoke of lotus, and blowing it over your body + aura to clear and bless yourself. See how it feels for you.
I am not the best free-hand roller of joints - so I use a little rolling machine!

I use the RAW Hemp plastic roller - you can find at your local smoke shop or online.

+ organic hemp rolling papers.

HOW TO:
lovingly break down lotus petals into little pieces.

I like to do this with my hands as it feels more intimate and full of prayer. I like the time it takes so that I can drop in, offer my gratitude and prayers.
I crush up the petals and the yellow tentacles and then offer the core center to the earth or my altar (if you’re using a whole flower).
from there you can look up online with visuals how to use the roller machine if you’re using that - if not, you probably know how to roll a joint :)

EXPLORATIONS

PRACTICES:

Pay attention to when you get the flash illumination of your intuition - notice when you follow it and when you don’t. Write them down in your journal or in your phone and keep track of them this month. See what is revealed and what you learn.

Play with divination + oracle + symbolism.

Pay attention to signs + symbols that show up in your field.

Work with Lotus in the form of divination - asking Lotus for messages through tarot or oracle.

Maybe you want to have a simply altar with you that ignites your inner visioning + creativity - 3rd eye + sacral chakra. Lapis Blue, a candle lit, a bowl of water or a shell.

TO THE UPPERWORLD

SPACE:
Come as you are <3 & Set up in a quiet space where you feel comfortable + where you will be undisturbed.
Set up on the floor where you can lie down - & have with you what you need for floor support.
Have a window or door cracked open for the smoke if you need.
ALTAR:
Set up your altar as you feel called to.
Please have a candle + lotus petals/a flower.
Maybe you want to have on your altar:

symbols/objects that represent the elements (earth, air, fire, water) that will carry + guide us through our journeying always.
lapis / lapis blue.

fresh flowers.
feeling called to say - whatever you bring on your altar may it carry a fresh + new energy with it. representative of your path ahead.

SELF:
Come as you are - in comfortable clothing. Maybe you want to wear white or lapis / lotus blue as we journey.
Prepare yourself for ceremony in whatever way feels good to you. Maybe it's anointing your body with oils, clearing your body with sacred smoke, laying on the Earth outside.
If you are able - I invite you to shower/bathe before ceremony to wash off the day/night and come cleansed.
Make a Lotus tea infusion for plant spirit foot bath. Infuse for at least 20 min.

Bring infusion with flower/petals still inside.

Have a Small/medium Bowl that you can put the lotus water in during ceremony.

- or Lotus tea if you’d rather drink instead of smoke.
- something to ash in.
- cup of water to drink if needed.
- Some Lotus water (tea), infused for however long it doesnt matter. this will be for anointing/cleansing/blessing before journeying.
- Journal + pen.
- Sacred smoke + light.
- Candle.
- Eye pillow or something to cover your eyes with.
- Cushions, pillow, or any support you may need to lay on the floor.
- Blanket or sweater if you need to keep the body warm when laying down.
